Fitness has always been something that I've enjoyed. I was that kid that tried hard in gym class just because I loved it. I couldn't understand why my other friends didn't feel the same way. It wasn't until years later that it dawned on me. Getting fit is hard! Most people know how important it is to be fit, and the benefits it brings, but if someone doesn't find enjoyment in something, why would they do it? Answering this question became my sole purpose in life.

After four years of personal training, I decided to travel across the country studying training techniques and CrossFit programs. I never imagined how it would change the course of my life. The dream of opening my own gym, and bringing the enjoyment of fitness to people has become a reality. I’ve brought back to Michigan the best of what CrossFit, and myself, have to offer.

The best part of CrossFit: I love that it’s for everyone – it doesn’t matter about the shape you’re in or your size. If you want to improve your strength, speed, endurance, mobility, flexibility and quality of life, then CrossFit is for you. And, as a CrossFit Trainer, I have never stopped learning and developing as a Coach and as an athlete.

Charlie absolutely changed my life when he introduced me to CrossFit in 2013. I was terrified and not sure if I could stick with it, but Charlie pushed and motivated me and I became hooked after finishing my first WOD. (Charlie and Rachel became engaged in July 2016.) In 2015, I became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Seeing people grow and knowing you helped them achieve something they never thought possible is the best feeling you can have in the world.

The best part of CrossFit: It’s the community – they pretty much become your second family! I just love how we all work together to push and motivate each other – especially when you feel like you have nothing left to give. And, as a CrossFit Trainer, each class I coach continues to push my skills in leadership, training, and coaching.

I've always been into fitness, and have worked at multiple gyms as a group fitness trainer, but there's nothing like CrossFit Frostbite! Things for me progressed fairly quickly over here. Within a couple months, I started teaching Bootcamp and MetCon, and then before I knew it I was in Ohio taking my CrossFit Level 1! CrossFit Frostbite is where you'll be pushed to reach dreams and goals you didn't know you had, and where you'll find an awesome support group of people who truly believe in you!

The best part of CrossFit: Beisides the obvious, comradery, I like the fact that results are measurable. Of course, tracking progress was not invented by CrossFit, but the way that they do it is unique and it works! By logging reps, rounds, time, weight, etc., you can see how you have improved. I love this! I can go into my Beyond the Whiteboard app and see that less than a year ago, I couldn't get 95lbs off the ground, and within a year, I can put that plus much more over my head!

Athletics has always been a huge part of my life, but I’ve been missing the drive I had as a former collegiate athlete. Enter CrossFit. From day one, I was hooked. From the intensity of the workouts, to the community feel, there is nothing that pushes me this hard yet keeps me wanting to come back. I want to pass this feeling onto others so they experience the same feeling. I am so thankful to be part of the Frostbite family and am excited to see what the future holds!

The best part of CrossFit: I love the feeling of walking into the gym knowing you will accomplish something you didn’t think was possible yesterday. As a mom of two young boys, I love that they see me working hard and being a strong role model. It’s important to me that they know they can achieve anything as long as they give it their all. You just can’t teach the encouragement, motivation and push to work harder that you get from a CrossFit community. How lucky are we to be a part of the Frostbite family.

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

CrossFit Kids Certificate

BLS (CPR and AED) for HCP

Pediatric Nurse

Veteran of OIF/OEF

I have always been active - Little League and dance (eg, ballet) as a kid; then, briefly HS wrestling; softball leagues, martial arts, triathlon (eg, Ironman), marathons on three continents, and yoga as an adult - but I never considered myself an athlete. Now, firmly in middle-age, I face metabolic syndrome (or whatever the catch phrase is today). In just over a year at Frostbite, I'm off my blood pressure and cholesterol meds, down three notches on my belt, and looking to pay it forward.

The best part of CrossFit: It makes everyday life so much easier! That's what "functional fitness" means!! Pick things up, or jump up-and-down, for bone health and balance. Get your heart pumping and a sweat going, for brain health and better metabolism. Embrace reciprocal vulnerability within Charlie's amazing Frostbite community, for emotional health. Develop strength and power, to lift those (expected) grandkids; they won't be getting any lighter. Eat right, exercise, recover. Wash, rinse, repeat. Often.

Certified Mascot (2015)

I usually hang out in the office asleep under the front desk. However, I am always there to greet people when they come in because that is my job. Don't be confused when I bring you a shoe. That's just my way of saying "HI!"

The best part of CrossFit: All the hugs and occasional "sneak" treats.
